Referee Bio

I have been playing rugby for over 30 years and now been refereeing for 4 years,

  1. I referee to give something back to the players coming into the game.
  2. I enjoy refereeing all age groups to see the development of up-and-coming players within the D&W area.
  3. Also the banter between player that I use to play with and against when I am on the other side as a referee, still having the camaraderie.
  4. Enjoying refereeing is being able to keep myself in the game I love when I am unable to play.
  5. Aspiration ;- to be able to get as higher level as I can within the D&W Society in 15’s and also get to a high level in the 7’s game as I have become to love that side of rugby.

We are a forward thinking Society and are actively looking to increase the number of referees available to cover the games throughout the Counties and support new referees to accomplish the highest standard possible at whichever grade they reach.
